WALDORF, Md., Dec. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Bank of Tri-County is proud to support the Southern Maryland Food Bank in their efforts to collect food for the less fortunate members of our community. Through the efforts of customers and employees, Community Bank was able to collect nearly 800 pounds of food, which will be distributed throughout Southern Maryland.

Through the efforts of Community Corps, our community outreach program, we were able to collect enough food to provide 40 local families with meals for three days," said Michael Middleton, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Community Bank of Tri-County. The Southern Maryland Food Bank has been serving the communities of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's County for 28 years. Through donations, they are able to provide food to nearly 40 pantries, group homes, soup kitchens and shelters. The food provided to these facilities feeds more than 10,000 local families each month.
