WALDORF, Md., Nov. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Bank of Tri-County is proud to support the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in their efforts to collect toys for the less fortunate children in our community. Now through December 15, 2011, each Community Bank of Tri-County branch will be a drop-off site for the Toys for Tots program.

Originally founded in 1946, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program has collected more than 400 million toys and distributed them to more than 188 million children. Each year, during October, November and December the organization works with local businesses to collect new, unused toys, and then distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community.
"Last year, the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program was able to support over 3000 needy children in the Southern Maryland area. This year, we are hoping to be able to provide toys for at least that many children, if not more," said Stacey Crowe, Charles County Toys for Tots representative. "We believe that every child deserves to have a Christmas, and through the donations of kind hearted people in our community and the hard work of local Marines, we are able to help make that happen."
