Community Bank of the Chesapeake Supports Local Organizations with "Casual For A Cause" Donations

Waldorf, Maryland, July 21, 2016Community Bank of the Chesapeake is proud to support local non-profits, who provide healthcare and wellness services throughout the Annapolis, Southern Maryland and Fredericksburg regions, with donations made through its annual Casual for a Cause program. Casual for a Cause, created by Community Bank, is an engaging initiative that allows employees to dress casual for the summer months by making a donation. The funds raised by Casual for a Cause go to selected local organizations that serve Community Bank of the Chesapeake’s communities.

“We donated to local healthcare providers this year as a small thank you for all the hard work and dedication they put into improving the health of our community. Providing healthcare is an important part of building a strong and healthy community and it is an honor to be able to contribute to these organizations,” said William Pasenelli, President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Bank of the Chesapeake. “This is Community Bank’s twelfth year of Casual for a Cause and I am pleased to share that throughout the years over $60,000 has been donated to our communities through employee contributions.”

Community Bank employees participate in Casual for a Cause by making a donation, which entitles them to dress “business casual” from May 1 through Labor Day. This year, contributions to Casual for a Cause totaled $6,000. The Bank will donate funds to local health providers including University Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center Foundation, Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation and The Calvert Memorial Hospital Foundation in Southern Maryland, the Mary Washington Hospital Foundation in Fredericksburg, Virginia and the Wellness House of Annapolis, Maryland.

These local organizations are non-profits with the common mission to improve the healthcare of the people in the communities they serve. Through a volunteer Board of Directors, these organizations work hard to ensure they are consistently refining, expanding and identifying community needs, in order to provide the best, quality healthcare services, while continuing to grow their financial resources.
